Arrest Warrant Issued by ICC for Putin’s Alleged War Crimes
On March 18, 2023, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin for his alleged involvement in the forced transfer of children to Russia after the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine. The court stated that Putin is “allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children)” and the “unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.”
